About Superior Psych Scribes
Superior Psych Scribes was developed by mental health professionals, for mental health professionals. We go into this field to help people, not to be burdened by paperwork! The paperwork tied to each patient and session can be overwhelming for psychotherapists, psychologists, and behavioral health prescribers - which leads to limitations in how many patients we can serve. The heart and soul of behavioral healthcare is connecting with patients, so we came up with a way to help you do that by supporting you in the background with documentation. A recent study in partnership with the American Medical Association found that physicians who used a scribe experienced a 27% reduction in burnout, and about an hour less time spent on charting per 8-hour day.
But, what is a scribe?
A scribe is a person who takes notes for a professional service and often provides a written record of communications. In the medical field, scribes often accompany physicians, psychiatrists, or other medical professionals in patient appointments, and document the patient’s presenting problems, symptoms, or medical history, for example. In the behavioral health realm, where a different level of confidentiality might be necessary, scribes can assist with typing dictated information after the session rather than being present and capturing the patient’s data live during sessions.
Superior Psych Scribes professionals are trained in HIPAA and in using clinical language. Their training allows them to adapt to the nuances of each practitioner’s preferences in terms of data to include in their charting. Over time, our scribes can write to the practitioner’s preferences efficiently. It is highly important for scribes and practitioners to provide ongoing feedback to each other to build the practitioner’s confidence in the process and to enhance the scribe’s ability to meet the practitioner’s needs. This level of support and connection improves the quality of the data being output by the scribe - taking out any guesswork related to the scribe capturing necessary information for documentation.

How it works.
The practitioner fills out a questionnaire regarding their needs.
Superior Psych Scribes matches their needs to a scribe and an initial consultation is scheduled.
The practitioner obtains consent from their patients (if required) to use scribe services. Superior Psych Scribes has developed a sample consent form that practitioners can use as a guide to develop their own template, if the practitioner desires.
The practitioner would give the scribe access to their EHR system and assume all costs associated with this.
The practitioner and scribe will collaborate to find the most effective processes for completing documentation - but rest assured, your scribe already has ideas to share with you.
